PAIR OF MOVEMBER SUPPORTERS WIN 2026 FUNDRAISING VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR AWARD

Mustachio Bashio Organizers Cole McCormack & Jack Hasselmann Honored

BALTIMORE, MD, UNITED STATES, February 25, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The lead organizers of an annual fundraising party that has raised more than $1 million since 2019 to support the men’s health charity Movember have been named Fundraising Volunteers of the Year by the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum.

Honorees Cole McCormack and Jack Hasselmann co-captain Team Macho Macho, which organizes the Mustachio Bashio, a November, Manhattan-based event. The initiative has expanded from a group of men growing mustaches—Movember’s signature peer-to-peer fundraising program—into a multi-channel program involving sponsorship, ticket sales, auctions, raffles, and peer-led team fundraising.

In 2025, close to 400 people attended “GoldenBall,” the sixth edition of Mustachio Bashio, which raised $125,000. After the event, Team Macho Macho continued to fundraise over $240,000 through traditional peer-to-peer fundraising and hosting other events such as a golf tournament, mini concerts, and mental health connection dinners.

In recognition of their efforts, the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum will honor McCormack and Hasselmann at its annual conference in Baltimore on February 25 as part of its P2P Impact Awards program. The Fundraising Volunteers of the Year award is sponsored by Blackbaud.

Peer-to-peer fundraising involves nonprofit organizations engaging their supporters in activities such as charity walks, bike rides, DIY campaigns, livestreams, endurance events, and other in-person and virtual challenges. Participants then rally their networks of friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues to solicit donations for the cause.

Collectively, peer-to-peer fundraising programs raised more than $1.7 billion dollars in 2025 for thousands of nonprofits in North America, according to the annual U.S. and Canadian Peer-to-Peer benchmarking studies.

McCormack and Hasselmann were nominated for the award by Movember, a global charity dedicated to changing the face of men’s health by funding innovative research and support programs.

“Cole and Jack represent the very best of what Movember stands for: community, courage, and a deep commitment to changing the face of men’s health,” says Brittany Veneris, Director of U.S. Fundraising at Movember. "What began as a simple act of growing a mustache has evolved into a sophisticated, multi-channel fundraising engine that not only raises critical dollars, but also drives meaningful conversations about cancer and men’s mental health. Their leadership shows that when passionate supporters take ownership of a cause, the impact extends far beyond a single event. It builds a movement.”

“Amazing supporters like Cole McCormack and Jack Hasselmann are the heart and soul of peer-to-peer fundraising because of the way they bring people together around a shared cause,” said Marcie Maxwell, CEO of the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum. “By rallying their communities with passion and purpose, they reflect the millions of volunteers who energize organizations through their generosity, time, and talent.”

“Blackbaud is honored to be presenting the Fundraising Volunteers of the Year Award at the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum this year, and we could not think of better and more deserving honorees than Cole McCormack and Jack Hasselmann for their support of Movember,” said Natalie Cole, Director of Enterprise Relations at Blackbaud.
